Near Rectilinear Halo Orbits for the DSG

NASA’s recently-announced Deep Space Gateway is planned to serve as a staging orbit and proving ground for voyages beyond the Earth and Moon. Its current candidate orbit is a Near Rectilinear Halo Orbit near the Moon that offers opportunities for access from the Earth, to the surface of the Moon, and beyond to asteroids and Mars. At Johnson Space Center, a team of engineers, including a.i. solutions’ Diane Davis, is exploring this orbit.
