Maneuvering and Targeting

Top  Previous  Next

Maneuvering and targeting are two topics in space mission design and analysis that go hand-in-hand. Maneuvering deals with changing a spacecraft's orbit using finite or instantaneous changes to its velocity, while targeting often involves calculating a set of maneuvers that will get your spacecraft to an orbit that meets a given set of criteria.

There are a variety of Sample Mission Plans (included with your FreeFlyer installation) that demonstrate various applications of these topics. Continue to the Maneuvering and Targeting Samples pages to view descriptions and images of these examples.
