Spacecraft Observations

Top  Previous  Next

The Spacecraft Observation represents an observation of one spacecraft from another spacecraft. The measurement types available for these observations are:

Range

Range Rate

Azimuth

Elevation

Right Ascension

Declination

When working with Spacecraft Observations, you have the option to include the following corrections:

Ionospheric Correction

Light Time Correction

The ionospheric correction calculation relies on the FF_SolarSystem.IonosphereOptions.ScaleFactor property, which can be configured to scale the ionospheric correction values differently for simulating vs. processing. The spacecraft transponder frequencies are also used in computing the ionospheric corrections.

The following tracking data formats supported by FreeFlyer can contain Spacecraft Observations:

Spacecraft Observation Files

For more information on creating simulated Spacecraft Observations, see the Simulating Tracking Data page.
