TwoLineElement Object

The TwoLineElement object gives access to a suite of tools used for TLE reading and writing.

This page describes functionality in millisecond timing precision mode. Millisecond timing precision mode is deprecated and will be removed in a future release. We recommend that you migrate your Mission Plans to nanosecond timing precision mode.

Alpha5ID	The Alpha-5 catalog id assigned to the object by the US Space Force. This maps to the SatelliteNumber using the alpha encoding defined by the US Space Force.	Type: String Access: Read/Write

Bstar	B* term of the two-line-element	Type: Variable Access: Read/Write Units: er^-1
Classification	The classification of the element set	Type: String Access: Read/Write
DeclaredName	The name of the object as declared.	Type: String Access: Read-Only
Eccentricity	Eccentricity	Type: Variable Access: Read/Write
ElementSetNumber	The element set number. Normally, this number is incremented each time a new element set is generated. However, recent practice has this number set to 999 at all times, to avoid confusion after rollovers.	Type: Variable Access: Read/Write
EphemerisType	Ephemeris type (ie. orbital model) used to generate the data	Type: Variable Access: Read/Write
Epoch	The day of year of the epoch of the element set include the fractional portion of the day.	Type: Variable Access: Read/Write Units: day

InternationalDesignator	The year of the launch, the launch of that year, and the piece of that launch for each object	Type: String Access: Read/Write

MeanMotionDDot	The second derivative of the mean motion divided by six, in units of revolutions per day^3, decimal point assumed, as a string. Note, since this parameter is not used for SGP4 propagation, but now represents the AGOM term when a type 4 TLE is defined.	Type: String Access: Read/Write
MeanMotionDot	The first derivative of the mean motion divided by two, in units of revolutions per day^2 as a string. Note, since this parameter is not used, it is read directly from the TLE, or output directly to it.	Type: String Access: Read/Write
Name	The name displayed for this object in output windows such as views, plots, and reports.	Type: String Access: Read/Write
ObjectId	The unique identifier for the object.	Type: Variable Access: Read-Only
ObjectType	The type of the object.	Type: String Access: Read-Only
RAAN	Right ascension of the ascending node	Type: Variable Access: Read/Write Units: deg
RevolutionNumber	The revolution number at epoch	Type: Variable Access: Read/Write
SatelliteNumber	The catalog number assigned to the object by the US Space Force. This maps to the Alpha5ID using the alpha encoding defined by the US Space Force.	Type: Variable Access: Read/Write
SpacecraftName	The name of spacecraft as read or written as the header line in a three-line-element.	Type: String Access: Read/Write

ClearSavedStates	Clears previous saved states for this object.
GenerateTwoLineStrings	Generate strings containing the two-line-element data.
GetFromFile	Load the object state from the specified FreeFlyer object file.
GetFromString	Load the object state from the specified string.
InitializeFromStrings	Initialize the object properties from strings containing the two-line-element set data.
InitializeTLEFromSpacecraft	Initialize the state properties of the TwoLineElement object from a spacecraft.
LoadTLE	Loads a two-line-element set from a file.
PutToFile	Convert the object state to FreeFlyer object xml and write to a file.
PutToString	Convert the object state to FreeFlyer object xml and return as a string.
ReferenceEquals	Returns 1 if the argument refers to the calling object and 0 otherwise.
Restore	Restore an object's state from a previously saved state.
Save	Save the object's state so that it can be restored later.
SetSpacecraftStateFromTLE	Initialize the Spacecraft state properties from the TwoLineElement object.
WriteToFile	Write the two-line-element set to a file.
